Google Trips is the best companion for all your travels
Apps have become our companions in almost everything in life — including traveling. There are plenty of travel apps advertised as a way to make your trip easier. But none of them hold a candle to Google Trips.
Google Trips organizes all the information you need for your travels in one place. You don’t even have to be connected to the internet to access it. Trips was developed to be your one-stop shop for all your travel-related information and it has succeeded.
The first perk of the app is you can avoid tediously entering your travel information. If you use Gmail, all of your flight information, hotel bookings (including AirBnB reservations), car rentals, and even train and bus tickets will automatically be imported into Google Trips. As long as you give the app access, all the details will be gleaned from conformation emails and organized accordingly. If for some reason a confirmation email isn’t picked up, you can still add details manually.
Information included inside the app features addresses, phone numbers and maps to help you find your way. Each trip can be downloaded for offline access so you’ll never be lost even if you don’t have a signal.
But that’s not the end of what Google Trips has to offer. You can also plan your itinerary. Google Trips has an easy-to-navigate sight seeing menu that suggests stops to fit any kind of tourist needs. You can also browse different types of restaurants and eateries. If there is a place you would like to visit that doesn’t appear in Google’s suggestions, you can always search for it. Additionally, you can access your Google Maps saved locations and add them to your list.
You can plan a separate itinerary for each day of your trip. Each stop for the day will be pinned on a map. You can browse and adjust your itinerary throughout the day. Additionally, you can also get directions between your stops and estimated travel times to fully maximize your day.
Google Trips has no limits. You can plan as many trips as you want at a time. When you first open the app, you might find details from some of your past trips already stored. You can easily delete or archive a trip plan to clear away the clutter. But having past trips accessible can help you remember where you’ve already been and plan a fresh itinerary.
This year, Google Trips was updated to include sharing functionality. You can now share your trip info easily with your friends to get suggestions of places to visit. This feature also makes it easy to share your information with anyone who might be traveling with you. If you’re the appointed trip planner, none of that information needs to be locked away from everyone else.
Google Trip is a robust app that gives you the ability to organize your trip plan before and during your travels. The app also gives you peace of mind because all of your info will be accessible offline anytime. You’ll never be lost again.
