You know what I just adore about Nicole Kidman? She’s one of the few celebs of our time that simply screams *movie star.* I’m talking old Hollywood, a silver screen darling, in the same realm as Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Lauren.

And it’s not just the Aussie beauty’s acting chops that put her in that “Classic Old Hollywood” category for me. It’s also her sheer demeanor of elegance, mystery, and style. There are a ton of fashion icons reigning in our time, but I’m of the affirmative opinion that no one can beat the “Baby Girl” star’s wardrobe. There, I said it. Kidman fans, stand up!

Just one peak at “The Undoing” actress’s Instagram, and you’ll find yourself both dazzled and inspired by her variety of outfits. Whether she’s dressing it up for the Met Gala in her 1950s-inspired Balenciaga gown, or dressing it down for a casual Sunday indoors with her hubby Keith Urban, the Hollywood veteran never fails to deliver looks with the utmost poise and class.

Another reason I am in love with Kidman’s wardrobe is because she is always able to find that perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. The majority of her looks, be it on a stroll through the red carpet or to the local gas station, appear equally fashionable as they do practical. When I’m shopping for new clothes, my end goal is always to find the perfect blend of these two functions. But it’s not easy to find apparel that is as cute as it is suitable for everyday use. Finding such clothes is like finding buried treasure, since the especially chic outfits usually aren’t as snug, while the especially comfy fits usually aren’t as cute.
Fortunately, though, it seems like Kidman has cracked the code. The “Eyes Wide Shut” star recently stepped off a flight to Sydney in an oh-so-adorable pair of wide-legged jeans. Cuffed to perfection, these pants can add a classic, yet comfy flair to any old outfit. Plus, it’s hard to make jeans comfortable (“comfortable jeans” honestly sounds like an oxymoron to me), but this pair somehow gets the job done.

Never is my desire for comfortable clothing more apparent than when I’m in travel mode. And if you’re anything like me, you can agree that one of the wooooorst feelings in the world is when you’ve shlepped through all the airport hustle and finally boarded your flight, only to sit down in your assigned seat and realize that you’re wearing the least stretchy clothing imaginable for travel. (My last four-hour flight while wearing too-tight skinny jeans taught me that lesson the hard way. Needless to say, I’ll never make that mistake again.)

Finding the right clothing for your flight/Vacay can make or break your entire experience. You want that hard-to-find blend of breathability, sustainability, and elegance. So if you’re on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans like Kidman’s that are top-tier for travel, we at Jour have got you covered. Let’s do some much-needed shopping so we’re never uncomfy and constrained on our upcoming flights again. *Breathes deep sigh of relief.*

Slim Straight Jeans from Banana Republic

Everyone owes it to themselves to have a pair of Banana Republic jeans in their closet. The high-rise slim straight jeans are perfectly tailored to prioritize breathability, stretchiness, and timeless fashion. Sure, the jeans are a tad pricey compared to others on this list. But the sustainable, organic cotton denim will take you on many-many journeys even if it’s round the corner for King Cone ice cream.

Whether you’d prefer to dress this look up or down, it’s a fabulous wardrobe staple for your future travels. I love the shades: Sandstone, Black Wash, and Rinse Dark Wash — totally classic.

Side Note:  Pair this up with BR’s Midweight Cashmere Cropped Sweater and Italian Leather ankle boots for the chicest airport look. (But prepare yourself for the swarm of strangers asking where you got your fit.)

Levi’s 505 Regular Fit Jeans

Did you know that when shopping for a solid pair of jeans, it’s statistically impossible to go wrong with Levi’s? This is a scientific fact! Since there are so many stylish Levi’s to choose from, I’m gonna single out the 505 Regular Fit Jeans, cause they’re designed with comfort in mind. This sleek fit is never too tight or too baggy both a no-no in general, but especially on long flights!
This pair comes in several terrific shadesDurian Dark Wash, Olive Green, or Feel The Music (a delish light blue). Plus, I love it that this fit works on all body types. Ready to travel with class? Levi’s has got you covered on that front.

Uniqlo Slim Fit Jeans

Are you a fan of the skinny jeans aesthetic, but can’t stand how tight they are? If so, you’re not alone. Since 2007, I’ve been on a harrowing quest to find the holy grail of skinny jeans. That’s because sometimes the best skinny jeans aren’t technically skinny jeans at all they just look like skinny jeans, but with way more freedom to move! That’s where slim fit jeans come in.

I adore slim fit jeans, since they provide the stylish aesthetic of tight pants, without the booty-crushing feel of tight pants the ultimate win-win, if you ask me. My favorite pair of slim fit jeans are Uniqlo. They provide all-day comfort, which is more than anyone can ask for while in travel mode.

Gap Mid Rise Straight Fit Jeans

Can we just be honest, the best place for must-have jeans is the GAP? It’s tough to find a clothing store that combines affordable pricing and premium garments, but the GAP has never once let me down.

When it comes to meeting my globetrotting, their Mid Rise Straight Fit Jeans take the cake. They’re breathable and fashion-forward in equal measures so, you’re killing two birds with one stone here. And at a reasonable price, mind you. Excuse me, while I pop ten in my bag…

Dockers California Carpenter Pants

Dockers have some of the sleekest, most fashion-forward pant options out there. I love the high-quality material and stretchiness of the California Carpenter Pants and sold for a lovely reasonable price. I appreciate that it comes in basic working lad shades like Dark Indigo Rinse, Medium Brown, Medium Indigo Stonewash, and White.

With your new chic travel jeans, you’ll breeze through flights, hike with ease, and shop ’til you drop — all while looking amazing. Whether you’re navigating an airport or exploring new cities, these jeans will help you travel in comfort and style!
