7 Reasons Why HelloFresh Is Taking Over In 2022

I can’t remember the last time I cooked dinner and it wasn’t a stress-filled disaster.

The closest I’ve come to success was the TikTok Feta Pasta, but I didn’t even like it.

I’ve always struggled with consistently cooking meals that combine delicious, fresh ingredients that are also healthy and don’t take too much time.

In steps my best friend from work. I noticed online that she started posting pictures of amazing lunches and dinners she was making all the time. Everything was so colorful and plated so nicely. I asked if she’d started a cooking class or something, but she said no–it was HelloFresh!

Yes, I’d heard about them everywhere, but I didn’t know if I could commit to something like that. She told me the subscription was way more flexible than she expected, and the food was amazing, so it was completely worth it.

I still doubted that HelloFresh could fix my dinner woes, but I tried it and here’s what I liked about it:

1. The Wide Range Of Recipes

If you sign up, you’ll never be bored. There are 23 different recipes each week with cuisines from all over the world. For my first week, I had Szechuan Pork & Green Bean Stir-Fry with Candied Peanuts & Jasmine Rice; Salsa Verde Enchiladas with Poblano Pepper, Black Beans & Monterey Jack; and Crispy Cheddar Chicken with Loaded Bacon Mashed Potatoes & Asparagus.

2. Dietary Options

The most popular plan is Meat + Veggies, but you can also choose Veggie, Family-Friendly, Calorie Smart, Pescatarian, Gourmet, or Quick and Easy. No matter what you choose, there’s always fresh produce and a variety of nutritious ingredients that everyone can enjoy.

3. Less Trips To The Grocery Store

When you’ve already got 3 meals planned out for the week (and if you’re like me and do Takeout Fridays…), grocery shopping is so much easier! I can focus on just a few meals each week, so I never end up overbuying and I’m saving so much money on not wasting food.

4. It’s Sustainable

I’ll admit I was worried about the packaging, but HelloFresh has some really fantastic sustainability initiatives. They have a recycling guide on their website for their packaging, and because of a shorter supply chain and better distribution methods, a meal from HelloFresh has a 25% lower carbon footprint than one made from your local grocery store’s ingredients. For the carbon emissions they do end up producing, they offset 100% of their emissions through partnerships with eco-friendly companies.

5. The Price Is Right

Meals begin at $7.49 each! In my neighborhood, you can’t get a sandwich for that price let alone Brown Sugar Bourbon Steak with Creamy Dijon Pan Sauce, Scallion Mashed Potatoes & Roasted Brussels Sprouts.

6. I Have So Much More Time

Not only do I spend less time recipe hunting and grocery shopping, I spend less time thinking about dinner, which has been amazing. Most HelloFresh meals are done in around 30 minutes, but some are as short as 15, some are oven-ready, and some only require one pot or pan for minimal clean-up.

7. Flexible Plans

My friend wasn’t kidding – you can choose for 2 – 5 recipes a week for 2 to 4 people and you can skip, pause, or cancel at any time. You’re never locked in, and if you need to pause or change your plan, you can do it with the click of a button.

So yes, I am in love with HelloFresh and I wished I’d signed up sooner. The recipe cards are super clear and I’m getting more veggies without even trying.

It makes my entire life–not just dinnertime–so much easier. I also feel like I’m learning new skills and how to create new flavors on my own, meaning no recipe rut and I’m never bored.

Thanks to HelloFresh, I’m cooking recipes I’d never dream of conquering, and I’m doing it three times a week! Cooking is easy with HelloFresh taking all the hard parts out of the process, and at the end of the day, it’s shown me cooking can be a ton of fun.
